2026 unlimited plans: the price war continues

Operators are dropping below CHF 30/month for unlimited 5G.

The 2026 market: three networks, fifteen brands

Three physical operators share the Swiss infrastructure: Swisscom, Sunrise (which absorbed UPC) and Salt. Above them, fifteen-odd low-cost brands ride those networks: Yallo and Wingo (Sunrise), Lebara and TalkTalk (Sunrise), M-Budget Mobile (Swisscom), Coop Mobile (Salt). Network quality is near-identical within a single operator — the low-cost brand buys wholesale and applies its slimmer margin. Customer differences: leaner support (chat-only, no store) and some premium features disabled (network priority at peak hours).

The real prices for 5G unlimited

With MVNO competition and premium-market stagnation, typical early-2026 monthly prices for unlimited 5G with EU roaming: Yallo Black CHF 24.95, Wingo CHF 27.95, Salt Plus CHF 29.90, M-Budget Mobile CHF 28, Sunrise Freedom CHF 39.90, Swisscom inOne mobile go CHF 79.90. Yearly, the gap between Yallo Black and premium Swisscom reaches CHF 660. For standard use (socials, streaming, email), sub-brands deliver an experience indistinguishable from premium.

Contract traps to avoid

Three classic Swiss traps. Trap 1: 24-month commitment often hidden behind a promo. Prefer "no-commitment" contracts, even if slightly more expensive. Trap 2: data throttling above a threshold (50-100 GB) — unlimited remains unlimited but speed drops to 256 kbps. Trap 3: hidden fees on non-EU calls and premium numbers.
